Managing a VDC Articles
To manage a VDC:

  1. Show the Resources page by clicking the Resources link in the top right hand corner of the screen.
     
  2. Click on the VDCs tab.

     
  3. On the VDCs widget, click the Manage button next to the VDC you want to manage.


    The Manage VDC dialog box is displayed.

     
  4. Do one or more of the following:

    To

    View and manage the servers within the VDC
    1. Click on the Servers section.
    2. To manage a server, click the Manage button next to it. 
    View and manage the disks within the VDC
    1. Click on the Disks section.
    2. To manage a disk, click the Manage button next to it.
    Delete the VDCClick the Delete button.
    Duplicate the VDCClick the Duplicate button.
    Add the VDC to a new or existing deployment instance
    1. Click on the Deployment Instance section.
    2. Do one of the following:
      • To add the VDC to an existing deployment instance: 
        1. Select Existing Deployment Instance from the Add todrop down menu.
        2. Select the name of the required deployment instance from the Instance drop down menu.
      • To add the VDC to a new deployment instance:
        1. Select New Deployment Instance from the Add to drop down menu.
        2. Enter the name to give the new deployment instance in the Name text box.
    3. Click the Save button.
    View and manage jobs associated with the VDCClick on the Jobs section. To manage a job, click the Manage button next to it.
    View and manage the related resources and UUIDs for the VDC
    1. Click on the Related Resources and UUIDs section. 
    2. To manage a related resource or UUID, click the Manage button next to it.
    View any customer keys associated with the VDC and add more if required
    1. Click on the Customer Keys section. 
    2. To add a customer key, enter the required details and click the Add button.

    Edit the permissions for the VDCClick on the Permissions section. 

    Permissions are set using the following fields:
    • Permission - Whether to allow or deny the user or group the ability to perform the action specified using the Capability drop down menu.
    • Type - Whether the permission applies to a group, or an individual user.
    • User/Group - The user or group to which the permission applies.
    • Capability - The action that the user or group is specifically allowed or denied the ability to perform.
    • Resource - The type of resource that the Capability pertains to, for example server, disk, or user.
  5. Once you have finished managing the VDC, close the Manage VDC dialog box by clicking the Done button.
