Snapshot Overview Articles
A snapshot is the saved state of a disk at a particular point in time. This comprises the state of the filesystem at a single point in time. Snapshots are taken of disks.

In order to prevent data loss due to disk writes being made to the cache before writing to the filesystem, snapshots should not be taken when the server writing to the disk is running.

Snapshots can be performed manually using the snapshots widget.
